Nicole Lam
An award-winning pianist, vocalist and young artist whose performances have already taken her from Southern California to concert halls around the world.
Nicole Lam, a pianist, performed as a featured student soloist in the La Mirada Symphony’s May 2019 concert. She is a sophomore at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), where she studies under Ms. Lilit Babayan.

Nicole has won top prizes at major competitions. Highlights include the Golden Note Youth Music Festival Grand Prize, first prize at the Two Cranes International Music Festival, the Music Teachers Association of California Scholarship Competition Grand Prize, and first prize at the Lansum International Competition.
She has performed as a piano soloist in world-renowned concert halls across the globe. Notable stops include Bucharest University in Romania, Brahms Hall in Vienna, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Closer to home, she has performed at Zipper Concert Hall, the Luckman Fine Arts Complex, Westerbeck Recital Hall, and Munson Chapel.
Nicole has also performed concertos with the Haydn Symphony Orchestra Vienna and the Bucharest Symphony Romania.

Masterclasses & Commissioned Premieres
Nicole has played in masterclasses for several distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Adrian Cox, Prof. Vlad Dimulescu, Prof. Thomas Kreuzberger, Dr. Barbara Moser, Prof. Dmitry Rachmanov, and Prof. Meng-Chieh Liu.
Her work has also extended beyond the traditional recital stage into chamber music and newly commissioned works.
The University of California, Los Angeles Theatre Department commissioned Nicole as a chamber musician. She premiered and recorded Glass Menagerie, a piece for violin, cello, and piano.
The Music Teachers Association of California also commissioned her to premiere Bruce Stark’s Three Dances for flute, violin, and piano at its Annual Convention.
Classical Vocalist & National Broadcast Host
Nicole is also a classical vocalist. She has sung in renowned venues such as the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Disney Recording Studios.
Beyond the United States, she has performed at historic sites in Italy and Vienna. She has also won first place at multiple vocal competitions, including the MTAC VOCE Competition and the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.
Her talents extend beyond instrumental and vocal performance.
Nicole serves as an honorary bilingual host at USTV, where she hosts celebratory events that air nationwide. She won first prize at the 2nd Annual American National Youth Host Competition.
As a result, she earned an invitation to represent the United States in the international finals in Beijing.

Love Through Music: Giving Back
Nicole finds joy in helping others and has transformed that impulse into an organization built around music’s ability to connect people.
She founded a nonprofit organization called Love Through Music. Locally, the organization shares music with meaning throughout the community while also supporting childhood education in Nepal.
Through the organization, Nicole strives to spread the essence of music to other people’s hearts.
Her work reflects a broader idea at the center of music education: young musicians are not simply learning notes, repertoire, and technique. They are discovering how artistic ability can become a means of communication, service, and connection.
A Young Artist Already Building an Extraordinary Musical Life
By the time Nicole Lam appeared as a featured student soloist with the La Mirada Symphony in May 2019, her musical journey had already taken her to competitions, international concert halls, orchestral performances, masterclasses, recording sessions and commissioned premieres.
Yet her work through Love Through Music reveals another side of that journey: a belief that musical accomplishment can become something larger when it is shared with others.
