Music of America: A Celebration of American Composers

On October 19, 2025, the La Mirada Symphony will open the season with The Music of America, a program that celebrates the richness of American composition. The afternoon begins with a pre-concert lecture at 2:15 p.m., followed by the concert at 3:00 p.m. Audiences will experience Jessie Montgomery’s uplifting Hymn for Everyone, Aaron Copland’s stirring Lincoln Portrait, and A Troupe’s Cadence by featured student composer Ethan Chaparro. The program concludes with George Gershwin’s beloved classic, An American in Paris, a vibrant musical journey through the streets of Paris with a distinctly American voice.
