Christopher Fairbanks: Actor, Director, and Narrator for “Lincoln Portrait”
Christopher Fairbanks (SAG-AFTRA, AEA, AFT) brings over 30 years of experience as an actor, director, writer, and educator. He began his career with The Loose Change Improv Comedy Group in the Bay Area, encouraged by his sister, Jennifer Fairbanks.
This Sunday, October 19, Christopher joins the La Mirada Symphony as the narrator for Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. The work celebrates leadership, courage, and the American spirit, and Christopher’s commanding voice brings those ideals to life.
Education and Early Achievements
Christopher earned his BFA from New York University and his MFA from UCLA, where he studied under theatre legend Gil Cates. Later, Cates invited him to perform at the Geffen Playhouse, where he covered roles for well-known actors such as Ed Harris, Bill Pullman, Gregory Itzen, John Carroll Lynch, and Max Wright.
One highlight of his stage career was performing opposite Frank Langella in The Father with *Kathryn McCormick. His performances continue to captivate audiences with emotion and authenticity.
Stage and Musical Performances
Christopher has also performed in acclaimed productions at A Noise Within, including Bus Stop, Desire Under the Elms, and Julius Caesar. As a skilled baritenor, he has appeared in musicals like Kiss Me Kate, Polyester the Musical, Earth Sucks, and Democracy, a reading with Harry Groener.
He even brought his musical talent to television in a comedic Lost parody on Jimmy Kimmel Live. His range across genres showcases his adaptability and creative passion.
A Visionary Director and Writer
In addition to acting, Christopher has directed award-winning productions throughout Los Angeles. At LA City College, he directed 1984 and wrote and directed the acclaimed Lysistrata vs. Toxic Masculinity.
At LACHSA, he directed Beggar on Horseback, The Dragon, Cash on Delivery, and Taming of the Wild Western Shrew, for which he also wrote the lyrics. Moreover, he led a lively production of Footloose, starring Corbin Bleu.
Each project reflects his ability to blend creativity, leadership, and collaboration.

Christopher’s film and TV credits include appearances on NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, TNT, USA, SYFY, and HBO. He has also worked with Randall Park on the web series Listen to Your Grandpa Andy Ling, which starred Elliot Gould.
