The La Mirada Symphony Will Host Student Musicians February 20

Conductor Alan Mautner and selected students from the Norwalk-La Mirada School District Honor Band/Orchestra will perform with the La Mirada Symphony for a pair of performances February 20, with more than 2,000 participating district students.

Through LMS’s annual Youth Program, the opportunity for students to perform with some of the best musicians in the world is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and serves to show students that anything is possible if they establish a goal and stay dedicated to achieving it.

“As an educator, music has always played an important role in the total education of young people,” said Pat Ruiz, Chairperson of LMS’s Youth Program. “This kind of program is a not an ‘extra’ in our children’s curricula, but a necessity.”

The performances will take place at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at the La Mirada Theater for the Performing Arts located at 14900 La Mirada Boulevard, La Mirada, CA 90638. Performance times are 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
